ROLE MODELING THE WORLD OF WORK
Most young people have no idea what a career within Professional and Financial Services involves or the diversity of roles that are on offer. We create exciting and contextualised programmes for our clients that bring the sector and its opportunities to life for young people.
Our partners are all people businesses and place great importance on attracting and developing diverse talent. They are particularly keen to both engage and understand the youth voice and they appreciate the value that young people with a high level of digital skills can bring to the future workplace.
Many of our partners collaborate with their clients on ESG programmes which we can tailor and help deliver for them to ensure a first-rate experience.
WHY GET INVOLVED
The programme allows businesses to play their part in creating a more equal and inclusive society, whilst reaching out to potential talent and the unique skills and perspectives that young people can bring to the sector.
By equipping young people with more knowledge about different careers in professional services, we empower them to make informed choices about their future careers.
Our activities showcase the variety of different professions and help to raise awareness about the wealth of opportunity within the sector.
We’re helping to close skills deficits left by the pandemic by supporting young people to develop essential skills such as communication, interpersonal skills, teamwork and confidence that will be crucial for their future careers.
Through volunteering, our partners help to improve diversity within their professions by role modelling the world of work, helping to increase awareness and aspirations among under-represented groups in the sector.
Our work brings to life all the opportunities in professional services and helps to break down barriers and misconceptions to make the sector more accessible for young people.
The activities we design and deliver together vary according the ages of the young people involved, though we can work with any employer on an idea that they may have to engage young people in understanding their sector.
At Key Stage 3 (11-13 years) this may include careers panels, sector insight days and inspirational speeches. At Key Stage 4 (14-15 years) the programme is more focused on specific job roles, skills and routes of entry through activities such as workplace visits, curriculum resources, speed networking, live briefs and podcasts. By Key Stage 5 (16-19 years) students interested in specific sectors are invited to attend work experience and insight days
Our programmes engage young people over a number of years to improve their knowledge of professional services to harness and grow their passion through more targeted and specific experiences with the employers involved in the programme.
