Workplace visit to Freeths Birmingham

Year 10 students from King Edward VI Aston School were invited for an interactive workplace visit at Freeths to find out about key skills for success.

FOCUS: Help students get a deeper understanding of the various roles available in professional services and the routes of entry into the sector while raising aspirations and developing key employability skills.

A group of 15 students from King Edward VI Aston School took part in a tour and interactive activities at national law firm Freeths in Birmingham with a focus on how to apply their learning at school to the real world of work.

Students were introduced to the history of and roles in the legal sector by volunteers from across the firm. They then took part in mini workshops focusing on CV writing and interview skills run so that they could get feedback for the future and understand what employers are looking for from their future workforce.



  • 100% of students said the visit helped them feel better prepared for the world of work
  • 100%  of students said it made them more aware of their own skills and aspirations
  • 100% of students said it improved their knowledge of the legal sector
