FOCUS: Help male pupils at primary school see job roles available in their local area and learn from positive role models in industry

30 male pupils from Year 6 were selected to meet and work with positive working role models from Birmingham Airport to help them expand their understanding of the various industries and roles out there in the world of work.

As well as a tour of the airport, the visit encouraged children to get an understanding of some of the basic principles of business.

Activities developed motivations for working and encouraged students to think about what they’d like to do in the future. By initiating these conversations at an early age the activities opened the students’ eyes to the world of work and the benefits of work.
